Hi everyone
! I am a uni student. I recently received the MSI Cyborg 15 A13V as a Christmas present, and I’d like to share some initial thoughts. I’ll update this post with more insights as I use the laptop more extensively.
Keyboard Experience
The keyboard is a pleasant surprise. The typing experience is incredibly smooth, and the keys are slightly larger than those on most laptops, which greatly improves accuracy when typing at speed. The RGB backlighting is both stunning and practical, making it easy to locate keys in low-light settings. The inclusion of a number pad is another big plus.
What stood out most to me are the specially designed shortcut keys in the first row, which are perfect for online meetings. For example, there’s a key for muting the sound and another for turning the camera on and off. These features are fantastic for avoiding awkward moments during video calls, like forgetting to mute or accidentally leaving the camera on.
MSI Center
The MSI Center is a great tool that enhances usability. It uses AI to detect the current usage scenario and adjusts the laptop settings for optimal performance. This PC has a MUX switch to balance performance and battery life. All it takes is a click and a quick reboot to make the change.
Multiple I/O Ports
This laptop excels in connectivity. It’s equipped with a variety of I/O ports, making multitasking much easier. For example, you can connect to an external display (via DisplayPort or HDMI), transfer files via USB, listen to music with wired headphones, and charge the laptop simultaneously. For context, my previous laptop was a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th Gen), which had only four ports.
Display Quality
The display is FHD, which delivers sharp visuals. The aspect ratio is 16:10, offering a taller screen compared to the typical 16:9 with clearer and larger visual space for work and multitasking.
So far, I’m very happy with this PC with many thoughtful designs. I’m excited to explore more as I continue to use it. Let me know if you have any specific questions or want me to test out certain features!
