Hi, I’m having a problem with my MSI Katana 15 B12V laptop.
After installing a new Windows update and restarting the laptop, it asked me for a BitLocker recovery key. I don’t have the key, and I don’t need the files on the laptop, so I decided to format it and unlock it that way.
I tried using the MSI factory recovery setup, but it didn’t work. Then I opened Command Prompt and used DiskPart:
diskpart
list disk
select disk 0 — this is my laptop’s 1TB SSD
list volume
clean
create part pri
format fs=ntfs label=C quick
I did not press Enter on the last format command. I left Command Prompt before completing it.
After that, my laptop stopped detecting my Samsung SSD properly. Now, when I turn on the laptop, it goes directly into the BIOS.
In the BIOS, Boot Option 2 changed from “Hard Disk: Windows Boot Manager” to just “Hard Disk.”
I’m not sure what to do now. Could you please help me fix this?
